Obituary for Alice Lynn Barton (Sorg)
Alice Lynn Barton of Bismarck, Missouri, was born on August 22, 1955, in Caldwell, Ohio, a daughter of the late Vernon and Frances “Jane” (Dyer) Sorg. Alice passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, having reached the age of sixty-six years, six months, and thirteen days.
On February 7, 1983, Alice was united in marriage to Monroe Barton Jr and they spent a wonderful 39 years together.
Those who remain to cherish her memory include her husband, Monroe Barton Jr; children: Kimberly Sills (husband, John), Michael Miley; grandchildren: Nicole Johnson (husband, Cody), Josh Sills, Ivan Miley; great-grandchildren: RaeLynn Johnson, Colt Johnson; and sister, Kayleen Kendall (husband, Mike).
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her grandson, Noah Miley; brothers, Thomas Sorg, and infant brother, Bobby Sorg.
Alice was admired by many and was a wonderful woman. She was an amazing seamstress and loved to crochet. Alice enjoyed many things in life: nature, watching birds and chickens, yard sales, and antiquing. She was known to have cracked the code in determining if a scratch off ticket was a winning one by the bar code. One of the fondest memories of her was when she was on the Cash Explosion TV Show in Ohio almost 30 years ago. She will be greatly missed!
