Beverly Jean Howell of Mineral Point, Missouri, was born on October 19, 1939 in Hannibal, Missouri, a daughter of the late James S. Shrewsberry and the late Mildred (Shannon) Lake. Jean went to her heavenly home on Saturday, August 13, 2022, having reached the age of eighty-two years, nine months, and twenty-five days.

Jean was survived by many dear relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Louis Lake, and many other dear relatives.

Jean was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Potosi, and an avid reader. She spent so much time at the library, it was considered to be her second home. She enjoyed many things in life, such as gardening, sewing, STL Cardinals baseball, and contributing to those in need. After she retired from the prison, she opened and ran a dog kennel, due to her love for cats and dogs.

A memorial gathering will be held at First Baptist Church, 10479 State Hwy P, Potosi, MO 63664, on September 17th, 2022 at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Washington County Library, 235 E High St, Potosi, MO, in honor of Jean.
