Obituary for Brandon Whitley
John Brandon Whitley of Potosi, Missouri, was born on August 24, 1982, in St Louis, Missouri, a son to John Lee Whitley and Barbara (White) Whitley. Brandon passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, having reached the age of thirty-nine years, eleven months, and twenty-four days.
Those who remain to cherish his memory include his parents: John and Barb Whitley; wife, Chelcie Whitley; children: BrayLie Whitley, BrayCie Whitley, BrayZlie Whitley; siblings: Sonya White (Donnie), Michelle Whitley, Colleen Edgar (husband, Jason), Colin Whitley (wife, Tina); special friends: Paul, Jimmy, and Stevie. Brandon is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and extended family.
Brandon was preceded in death by grandparents: John &Edith Whitley, Luther & Geneva White; and nephew, Colin Keith Whitley.
It's very difficult to sum up the life of a man that was so many things, and that touched so many lives. Brandon was a loving son, father, uncle, great uncle, and great friend to all of us. He was the master of many trades from climbing trees to a self-taught mechanical expert. We could count on him to be there in a moment's notice, and there wasn't a problem that he couldn't figure out, or how to fix it.
He had a passion for the outdoors, he loved fishing and hunting, but his true devout love was spending time with his girls and family. He touched all our hearts—either by teaching us various life skills, giving us a few points on how to bag that big buck, or teaching the nieces and nephews how to be ornery. We all loved him unconditionally and he will be forever in our hearts, and deeply missed.
A Visitation for Brandon will be Friday, August 19, 2022, from 5 to 8 pm at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 E High St, Potosi, MO 63664. Visitation will continue Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 11 am to 1 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 1 pm at the DeClue Memorial Chapel, officiated by Pastor Paul Tindall. Interment will follow at Whitley Family Cemetery in Potosi, MO.
