Obituary for David Wayne Skaggs Sr.
David Wayne Skaggs, Sr. of Mineral Point, Missouri, was born on August 13, 1969 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, a son of the late Samuel and Rosemary (Ellis) Skaggs. David passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, having reached the age of fifty-two years, seven months, and seventeen days.
Those who remain to cherish his memory include his significant other, Janet Wren; children: David “Bubba” Skaggs, Jr, Keela Skaggs, Sabrina Skaggs, Victoria Kley, and Mikie Kley; stepdaughter, Katlynn Basquez (husband, Kanyon); cousin who was like a son, William Steele; brother, Michael Skaggs; uncle, Donnie Skaggs Sr; aunts, Iva Kemper, and Florance Cain (Flossie); wife, Joanie Skaggs. David is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Lorrie Kley; grandmother, Sarah Skaggs; childhood friend and whom he called his brother, Bobby Dobbs.
David loved having any opportunity to be in the woods—cutting wood or hunting. Fishing was also a joy to him. He loved working on vehicles and spending time with his children. He had a deep love for people and would help anybody he could. His family and friends were his pride and joy and he will be truly missed by them—it won’t be the same without him.
