Obituary for Donald "Bud" James Missey

Donald James Missey, also known to family and friends as “Bud” of Cadet, Missouri was born on October 20, 1943 in Fertile, Missouri, a son to the late Henry Joseph Missey and the late Louise Marie (Thebeau) Missey. Bud passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 having reached the age of seventy-seven years, one month and twenty-four days.

Bud is survived by his loving wife, Betty (Skiles) Missey; three children: Leslie Johnson, Don "Donkey" Missey and wife Wendy, and Kevin Missey and wife Tracey; eleven grandchildren: Charles “CJ” Bone and wife Stephanie, Travis “TJ” Bradley and wife Allison, Jacie Missey and partner Dustin Coleman, Chad Hopkins, Alex Missey and wife Kayla, Kara Richards and husband Cole, Conner Missey and wife Vittoria, Kaylee Missey, Marissa Missey, Riley Hill and Jaimasen Missey; fourteen great-grandchildren; siblings: Ruth Missey and husband Mike, Mike Missey and wife Bessie, David Missey, Linda Reid and husband Joel, Debbie Missey, Barb King and husband Rodney, and Jerry Missey.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Louise Missey; son, Dennis Paul Missey who passed on December 10, 2020; brothers: Mark Missey, Kenny Missey, and Henry "Junior" Missey Jr.

A Visitation will be held Friday, December 18, 2020 from 10:30 am to 1 pm at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, Missouri 63664. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation in conjunction with his sons’ service, Dennis Paul Missey, beginning at 1 pm. Rev. H. Wayne Isgriggs will officiate the service. Full military honors will be presented by the United States Army and VFW Post 6996.
