Obituary for Ellen W. Kearns

Ellen Winifred Kearns of Caledonia, Missouri was born on April 23, 1942, a daughter to the late Winfred Gilman and the late Virginia E. (Hood) Gilman. On July 30, 1961, Ellen was united in marriage to Edwin Kearns at Belgrade United Methodist Church and they shared fifty-nine years together.

Ellen went to her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 having reached seventy-eight years of age.

In addition to her parents, Ellen is preceded in death by her two sons: Jeffrey Kearns and Matthew Kearns; niece, Laura Civey; and great-nephew, Derek Burch.

Ellen will be missed by all who knew and loved her including her beloved husband, Edwin Kearns; sister, Carolyn (Calbert) Tiefenauer; daughter-in-love, Cindy Stroup; eight grandchildren: Joshua Kearns and wife Angela, Jordan Kearns and wife Tricia, Alexandria Rogers and husband David, Kaitlyn Kearns, David Shaku and husband C.K., Brandon Kearns, Rachael Kearns and Blake Kearns; nine great-grandchildren: Cloe, Cole, Daisy, Joshua, Penelope, Jared, Phoebe, Vidalia and Amelia; also surviving are many dear nieces, nephews and extended family.

Ellen retired from Belgrade State Bank after 29 years in the banking business. Ellen was a devoted Christian women who loved the Lord with all of her heart and that love reflected through her words and deeds. She was member of Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Belgrade. Ellen loved her family very much. She adored her grandchildren and the time she spent with them. Ellen's beautiful legacy will forever live on in the hearts of the many people she touched. Ellen's family would like to express many thanks to Georgian Gardens Nursing Home for the care given to Ellen as well as their family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at DeClue Funeral Home from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, October 17, 2020, beginning at 10:00 AM.

A funeral service to honor Ellen will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2020, held at DeClue Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunlight Cemetery in Belgrade, Missouri.
