Obituary for Imogene Faye "Peanut" Halbert

Imogene Faye Halbert, also known by family and friends as “Peanut”, was born on March 3, 1949, in Cadet, MO, a daughter to the late Raymond Eckhoff and the late Betty Ruth Bone Eckhoff. On April 24, 1965, Peanut was united in marriage to Milford Halbert, and they shared 56 years together. Peanut passed away peacefully on Monday, March 21, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family, having reached the age of seventy-three years and eighteen days.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Milford Halbert; three sons: Dennis Halbert (wife, Dawn), Jeff Halbert (wife, Kathy), and Travis Halbert (wife, Beth); seven grandchildren: Joshua Halbert (Hayley Johnson), Zach Halbert (wife, Emily), Kyle Halbert, Katie Halbert, Seth Halbert (wife, Stephanie), Tyler Halbert (wife Breanna), and Logan Halbert (Alicia Braun); thirteen great-grandchildren; dear sister, Diane “Fuzzy” Wiethuchter (husband, Chuck); in-laws: Bob Halbert, Virginia Montgomery (husband, Jack), Harold “Sonny” Halbert (wife Vivian), Wayne Halbert (wife Carolyn). Also surviving are nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Peanut was preceded in death by her two grandchildren: Jessica and Blake Halbert; great-grandson, Benjamin Andrew Halbert; two siblings: James Dale Eckhoff and Nancy Whitehead; father and mother-in-law, Howard Buck and Rosalie Halbert; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law; Donnie Whitehead, Jim Halbert, and Barb Halbert.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 5 to 8 pm at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 E High St, Potosi, MO 63664. Visitation continued on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 11 am to 1 pm.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 1 pm, with Pastor Dwight Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
