Obituary for Jacob Alan "Jake" Eye

Jacob Alan Eye of Potosi, Missouri was born on September 18, 1983, a son to Kelly W. Eye and Suzette H. Blanford. Jake was united in marriage to Emily Gibson. Jake passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020, having reached thirty-six years of age.

Jake will be missed by all those who love him including his wife, Emily Eye; son, Lyrix Eye; step-children: Jaxon Grimes and Brooklynn Mecey; father, Kelly W. (Kellie R.) Eye; mother, Suzette (Melinda) Blanford; siblings: Andrew (Logan) Farris and Olivia Thebeau; grandparents: Wendell (Janice) Eye, Gary (Judy) Blanford, and Jim (Sue) Aubuchon; nephews: Brayden Thebeau, Grant Farris and Axel DeClue; niece, Macie DeClue; father-in-law, Timothy Gibson; mother-in-law, Twanna Gibson; in-laws, Brandon (Stephanie) DeClue and Tanner Pirtle; and many dear aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jake is preceded in death by his grandma, Darlene Eye; and extended family members.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 25, 2020 at DeClue Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, beginning at 9:00 AM. A funeral service to honor Jake will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeff Richards officiating, assisted by Pastor Scott Welty. Honoring Jake by serving as his pallbearers will be Gabe Ballard, Andrew Farris, Ryan Eye, Scottie Blair, Lane Eye and Phillip Blanford. Honorary pallbearers will be Kelly Eye, Lyrix Eye, Jaxon Grimes and his nephews.

Interment and final prayers will be held at White Oak Grove Cemetery (Shirley, Missouri) immediately following the service. All funeral arrangements have been cared for by DeClue Funeral Home.
