Obituary for Jeffrey Cornell Dean
Jeffrey Cornell Dean of Mineral Point, Missouri was born on September 2, 1962, a son to the late Stephen Dean and the late Ruth (DeClue) Dean. Jeff passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 having reached fifty-eight years of age.
Those who remain to cherish his memory include his siblings: Gary Dean (wife, Glenda), Becky Eckhoff (husband, Mike), Janice Gamble, Lindell DeClue, Tiny Dean, Rodney Dean and Shane Dean; many dear nieces and nephews; and his friends at the Pam Dudley Center.
Jeff was a kind sweet soul who never met a stranger. He always had a smile on his face and joy in his eyes. Jeff loved his family very much and loved the simple things in life. He enjoyed sitting on the porch, listening to his music, watching the cars go by, and watching wrestling with Shane. Jeff loved all the little kids in the family and if one of the kids happened to catch him at just the right moment, he would even let them open one of his toys—which was a big deal for Jeff. Jeff was happiest when he was surrounded by family enjoying a good BBQ in the yard. His best friend in life was Shane and Shane never left his side. From the time he opened his eyes in the morning, he was instantly filled with cheer and ready to talk about everything. You never left Jeff without a smile on your face. Jeff was a rare one and definitely priceless! We are all going to miss Jeff terribly and his smiling face. To know Jeff was to know love and joy. He will always be remembered as that sweet, lovable guy that so many were fortunate enough to get to know. Jeff loved his dog buster and every night he would tell Shane and Becky goodnight, I love you.
Visitation will be held at DeClue Funeral Home on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 4:30 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Friday, March 26, 2021, beginning at 9:00 am.
A funeral service to honor Jeff will begin at 11:00 am on Friday, March 26, 2021, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Rick Wade officiating. Honoring Jeff by serving as his pallbearers will be Garrett Griggs, Derek DeClue, Wayne Haws, Scotty Blair, Harry Thurmond, Jacob Eckhoff, Pete Pruitt and Derek Nickolaus. Interment will follow, held in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
