Obituary for Jerry Leo Parmley

Jerry Leo Parmley of Mineral Point, Missouri, was born on October 17, 1941 in Potosi, a son to Buford Parmley and Susie (Lawson) Parmley.

On June 20, 1969, Jerry was united in marriage to Janet Faye Edgar by Bro. Rob DeClue in Cadet and four children were born to this union. Jerry was a hard worker. He retired from the Laborer’s Union #718. He also cut wood almost all of his life, and he enjoyed doing it. Jerry found great joy in being outdoors, enjoying God’s beautiful creation. Jerry was a member of Unity Baptist Church where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. One of the greatest days in his life was May 31, 2010 when he and his family where baptized by Bro. Guy Conway. Jerry was a kind and generous man. He will be forever loved and greatly missed.

Jerry departed this life on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at his home having reached the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 16 days.

Those who are left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 52 years, Janet Parmley; four children: Jerry Parmley and Ruth Pulliam, Sharon McClain, Karen Lake (husband, Rob), and Susan Whitter (husband, Jeff); 14 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Jerry is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Buford and Susie Parmley; and three siblings: Charles Parmley, Donald Parmley and Wilma Cantrell.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 10:30 AM until 1 PM at DeClue Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will immediately follow beginning at 1 PM in the DeClue Chapel with Bro. Guy Conway officiating. Interment will be held at Redbud Memorial Gardens.
