Obituary for Jerry Reed
Melvin “Jerry” Reed of Potosi, Missouri, was born on February 12, 1948 in Shirley, Missouri, a son of Rev. Melvin Ott Reed and Mildred (Eye) Reed, whom both preceded him in passing. Jerry went to his Heavenly Home on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the age of 75.
Those who remain to cherish his memory include his four children: Michael Reed (wife, Carol), Regina Reed, Deidre Towns (husband, Bill), and Jason Reed (wife, Lindsey); six grandchildren: Katie Reed, Marly Reed, Kristin Eye, Taylor Eye, Chance Eastman, and James Eastman; three great grandchildren: Millie, Maverick, and Sawyer; four siblings: Larry Dean Reed, Perry Reed (wife, Diane), Fern Wallis (husband, James), and Mary Esther Parry (husband, John). Jerry also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be held at White Oak Grove Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 10 AM until the time of his Funeral Service at 1 PM with Bro. Casey Reed officiating. Interment will follow at White Oak Grove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
