Obituary for John William Province
John William Province of Caledonia, Missouri, was born on October 13, 1937 in St Louis, Missouri, a son to the late Marion Province and the late Jennie Eldridge Province. John passed away on March 13, 2021 having reached the age of eighty-three years and five months.
Those who remain to mourn his passing including his loving wife, Rose (DeMuth) Province; daughters: Penny Province (husband, Jon Emanuel) and Tracy Reynolds (husband, Tom); son-in-law, Dr. Stanley Sakabu; six grandchildren: Rachel (Craig) Ross, Seth (Lynsie) Wenenn, Clay Sakabu, Jimmy Sakabu, John Sakabu and Tom Sakabu; six great grandchildren: Alli, Jasper, Anna, Paige, Natalie and Madilyn; sister, Alice McConnell; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Linda Montgomery; nephews: David Brewer, Mark Brewer, and Paul Montgomery; niece, Karen Swaringim. John is also survived by stepchildren and step-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Jennie Province; first wife, Jimmye Lou (Montgomery) Province; beloved daughter, Cindy Lyn Province.
John was a hard-working, honest, funny man who adored his family. He loved being outdoors—hunting, fishing or just enjoying nature. He loved sharing stories about growing up on the farm and about his time in Hawaii. He will be missed beyond words, but we like to think he is now reunited with Jimmye Lou and they are enjoying pina coladas in paradise.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 4:30 pm to 8 pm at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Saturday, March 20th from 9:30 to 11 am.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11 am at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Elder Mike Jarvis officiating. Interment will follow at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery in Caledonia, Missouri. Full military honors will be presented by the United States Marine Corps and VFW Post 6996.
