Obituary for Kathy Ilene Reed
Kathy Ilene Reed of Bonne Terre, Missouri, was born on September 30, 1956, in Belleville, IL, a daughter of the late Henry and Ruby (Bowen) Anderson. Kathy went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 18, 2023, having reached the age of 66.
Those who remain to cherish her memory include her husband: Kevin Reed; children: Peggy Reed, Bernice Reed, Kevin "Andy" Reed Jr; grandchildren: Payton and Logan Reed; siblings: Pauline McCarson, Joan Haven (husband, Sam), Lillie Huffstutler, Henrietta Sharp, Marcella Sharp; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: John Reed, Dennis (Sandy) Reed, Mary Ann Marler, Jimmy (Marcella) Reed, Terry (Pam) Reed, Timmy Reed, Melinda (John) Fox, Jeff (Tammy) Reed. Also survived are nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Moore; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Douglas and Ruth Reed.
Kathy was a devoted wife and mother. She loved birds and kept them until her health grew worse. She collected porcelain dolls, sang in church, and led congregational singing. She would help out all that she could in church and was a member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Cadet, MO. She gave each month to missions, food for the poor, and gave to all, help unborn babies, veterans, and whenever she felt a need. She met her husband, Kevin, at Fountain Farm Church on Thanksgiving weekend of 1983, soon married on June 8, 1984, and shared 39 years together.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 11 am to 1 pm at DeClue Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 1 pm, officiated by Bro. Jim Merritt, assisted by Bro. Jeff Reed. Interment will follow at Redbud Memorial Gardens, in Potosi, MO.
