Leo Benson of Mineral Point, Missouri, was born on March 17, 1940 in Potosi, Missouri, a son of the late Alfred Jerome Benson and the late Lucy Alberta (Wilkinson) Benson. Leo departed this life on Monday, February 15, 2021 at his home having reached the age of 80 years, 10 months and 29 days.

Leo is survived by three children: Tony (wife, Pam) Benson, Angie Benson, Stephen Benson; three grandchildren: William (wife, Brittany) Benson, Ryan (wife, Bethany) Benson, and Stephanie Willard; one great-granddaughter, Finley Grace Benson; three siblings: Robert (wife, Peggy) Benson, Johnny (wife, Karen) Benson, and Erma Butery; special nieces: Beverly Strong, Teresa Benson, and Sheena Benson; also surviving are many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Leo is preceded in death by his father and mother: Alfred and Birddie Benson, two infant brothers: Stanley and Paul Benson; three siblings: Alfred Lenro (wife, Betty) Benson, Joseph "Bud" (wife, June) Benson, and Diane (husband, Dodo) Boyet; brother-in-law, Ralph Butery; and many other relatives.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 5 to 8 pm at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, Missouri, 63664. Visitation will resume on Monday, February 22nd from 9 to 11 am.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 11 am held at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Robert Thurman officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
