Obituary for Lucy Ellen "Pat" Henson (French)
Lucy Ellen Henson also known by family and friends as "Pat", went to her heavenly home on Friday, June 24, 2022 having reached the age of 89 years and 3 days. Pat was born on June 21, 1933 in Risco, Missouri, a daughter to Elvis French and Meca (Aters) French. On February 21, 1948, Pat was united in marriage to the love of her life, Cecil Roy Henson and they shared 67 years together. Pat loved quilting, tending to her vegetable garden, and sitting under her shade trees enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Pat kept a very clean yard and worked hard to maintain its beauty. She was an excellent cook and always looked forward to having her family over for the holidays. Pat made sure everyone had something to eat. She was loving and strong and was one of the greatest mothers and grandmothers that God made.
Those who remain to cherish her memory include her five children: Mary Yvonne Doss and husband Gary, Gary Wayne Henson and wife Faye, Rhonda Minks and husband John, Larry Thomas Henson, Bruce Evan Henson; 13 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cecil Roy Henson on March 15, 2015; grandson Darrell Doss; great grandson, Dieon Hernandes; brother, Charles Wesley Perrigan; sister, Wanda Swedholm; and her nephew, Tony Swedholm.
A time of visitation will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022 from 4 to 8 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 9 to 10 AM.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM in the DeClue Chapel with Pastor Lloyd Pierce officiating. Interment and final prayers will be held at Redbud Memorial Gardens. DeClue Funeral Home was honored to have served and ministered to Pats family and friends.
