Obituary for Melvin Patrick Crider
Melvin Patrick Crider of Cadet, Missouri, was born on April 27, 1956, in Chicago, IL, a son of the late Charles Edwin Crider and the late Magdalene (Blanton) Crider. Melvin passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, having reached the age of 66.
Those who remain to cherish his memory include his children: Michael Crider (wife, Angela), Randy Crider, Matthew Crider, Joseph Crider, Bobbi Sue Barton (husband, Kevin); grandchildren: Jamie Crider, Brianna Crider, Dustin Crider, Logan Crider, Isaiah Barton, Landyn Barton, Kevin Barton; great grandchildren: Robert Wideman, Timothy Langan; siblings: Kenny Crider (wife Darlene), Kevin Crider (wife, Charlotte), Becky Kelly, Mike Crider (wife, Mindy), Rick Crider (wife, Violet). Melvin is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Crider; siblings: Eddie Crider, Sharon Peters, and Art Crider.
Melvin would help anybody who needed it and would give you the shirt off of his back. He was very kind and slow to anger. He pastored in the Pentecostal faith for nearly 30 years. He enjoyed preaching at the local nursing homes and playing music, especially his martin guitar.
Visitation will be Friday, November 11, 2022 from 11 am to the time of his Funeral Service at 1 pm, at DeClue Funeral Home 301 E High St, Potosi, MO 63664. Bro. Kevin Crider will officiate his service. Interment and final prayers will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Potosi.
