They shared nearly 62 years of marriage together. They received their first child in 1952, a daughter, Christine Marie and in 1956, a son, John Douglas.

They worked these jobs for several years until venturing into other occupations. In 1967, Oneida attended college to become licensed as an LPN and was employed by Washington County Memorial Hospital, while Bud continued in construction. Oneida continued in the medical field and was employed as an office nurse for alocal doctor and six years later was employed by Potosi R-3 School District as school nurse in order to be home with her two children during the summer. Bud went to work for McCarthy Brothers and was away much of the time during those years. After they both had semi-retired, Oneida and Bud purchased and operated Sinclair Florist until they sold it in 1983 when they fully retired. For the next ten years, they enjoyed life, motorcycling, camping, fishing, and going to Texas for the winters until Bud’s health deteriorated.
