Obituary for Pauline Abney
Ms. Pauline Abney of Bismarck, Missouri, was born on August 9, 1926 at Courtois, Missouri, a daughter to Grayfer Abney and Isla (Evans) Abney whom both preceded her in passing. Pauline departed this life on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
After high school, Pauline attended Southwest Missouri State College, graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Pauline taught mathematics for over 40 years. She began her career in a one room schoolhouse in Washington County. She also taught at schools in Iron County and St. Francis County. Pauline loved her students and she retired as a Jr High math teacher at Bismarck R-5 District.
Pauline had a great love for her family and friends. She will be remembered by many for her late-night discussions, her apple butter, and her banana cake.
Those who remain to treasure her memory include her loving sisters: Freda Merideth and Charlotte M. Abney; nephew, James T. Merideth (wife, Kim); niece, Rene Merideth; great nephews and great niece: James Merideth III, Jaimie Merideth, and Quang Merideth.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Bismarck United Methodist Church, PO Box 286, Bismarck, MO 63624.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 7, 2022 at the Bismarck United Methodist Church from 1 pm until the time of her Funeral Service at 2 PM. Pastor Beth Allen will officiate. Interment and final prayers will be held at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
