Obituary

Bishop William Danny Joe Owens of Carthage, Missouri, was born on May 5, 1971 in Sikeston, Missouri, a son to the late Billy Max Owens and the late Lillian Dunnigan. Danny went to his Heavenly Home and was united with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the age of 49.

On May 17, 1998 Danny was united in marriage to Joni Gail Kean, and they shared over 22 years of memories and ministry together. Danny, was first and foremost a Christian. He was an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God and Pastored all over the state of Missouri. Danny loved his family, Kentucky Wildcats basketball, the Kansas City Chiefs, and really all sports in general. He enjoyed playing basketball, softball, and fishing. He loves everything that had to do with world history and politics. There is a lot that can be said about Danny Owens. He was a caretaker, and listener, a secret keeper, a preacher, and a thoughtful gift giver. But his favorite roles were Husband, Father, Papa D, Brother, Son, and Uncle. Enjoy Heaven, well done good and faithful servant.

Those who remain to celebrate Danny’s life include his wife, Joni Owens; three children: Rev. Ethan (wife, Abigail LeAnn) Owens, Cole Owens, Abigail Faith Owens, and bonus daughter Makayla McCulloch; two grandsons: Sterling and Sawyer all of Carthage; four siblings: Ronnie (wife, Donette) Dunnigan, Chuck Tanner, Donnie (wife, Alletta) Wasson, all of Fredericktown, Sandria (husband, Mike) Hutcheson of East Praire; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Bishop Wayne and Robin Kean of Branson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Bishop Brian and Rev. The time I had with Cousin Danny was on Facebook. A few years ago I was looking for family to connect or reconnect with when I found Danny. We talked about family and his Dad ( my Uncle Billy Max ) The best time though was many conversations or debating about politics . Danny you have touched so many lives leaving a forever lasting imprint during your time here with us. A Blessing to us all, untill we see one another again, Enjoy the home our Heavenly Father has prepared for you..
Love you, your cousin Sona Heil

I have known Danny my whole life. He was such a good big brother. All the memories of geeking out to Twilight, US History, GOT, and superheroes. He was the best caregiver! So many times growing up being sick, he would take me to doctor appointments or just hold my hair back. One of the best present I've ever received was from Danny. It was my pink DRAMA QUEEN pillow he got me for Christmas when I was 15. I still sleep with it every night...it's always been my "comfort blanket". Danny, thank you for always being the first big brother I had. You loved me, taught me, and defended me like a brother should. I can't believe how much I miss you already. Hold my babies for me, and I'll hold yours for you until we get to where you are. I love you bub.
