Obituary for Rita Ann Bowles (Snowdell)

Mrs. Rita Ann (Snowdell) Bowles of Bonne Terre, Missouri, was born on July 7, 1946, a daughter of the late James Mason Snowdell and the late Alice Jane (Ratty) Snowdell. Rita passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022, at her little cabin in the woods, surrounded by her family, having reached the age of seventy-five years, eight months, and twenty-seven days.

On January 9, 1965, Rita was united in marriage to Marvin W. Bowles Sr in Hopewell, MO, by the late Rev. Joe Gensler, and five children were born to this union.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her son, James Lester Bowles; grandson, Nathan Wayne Bowles; siblings: Donald Snowdell (wife, Helen), Bobby Snowdell, Terry Linn Snowdell, Alpha Gladine Hebblethwaite (husband, Homer); sister-in-law, Mary Snowdell; and brother-in-law, Loyd Lawson.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her husband, Marvin W. Bowles, Sr of Bonne Terre; children: Alice Byington (husband, Dennis) of Cadet, Edna Batey (husband, Terry) of Mineral Point, Randall Bowles (wife, Jennifer) of North Waterboro, ME, and Marvin Bowles Jr (wife, Tracy) of Bonne Terre; grandchildren: Amanda Murray (husband, Frederick), Devin Bowles, Brandon Bowles, Ryan Eye (Brittney Silkwood), Randall Bowles (wife, Brittney), Ryan Breakfield, Terah Miller, Shawn Batey, Hannah Batey, and Veronica Bowles; eleven great grandchildren; siblings: Betty Turner of Bonne Terre, Connie Lawson of Potosi, and Cletus Snowdell of Potosi. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice, Tammy Reed, Tristan and Dave for the love and care given to Rita.
