Obituary for Robert Eugene Smith
Robert E. Smith, 48, of Irondale, MO passed suddenly on August 20th, 2022. He arrived into this world on September 11th, 1973 at Scott Air Force Base at Shiloh, IL.
Robbie (Rob), as he was known, loved spending time with family and friends. Many have memories with him at the lake, where he loved to go and entertain everyone and always made everyone feel welcome. He thrived and enjoyed being the life of the party. Even though he may not have been the best washer and horseshoe player he cherished the time that he spent with his brother-in-law Chris while playing. He enjoyed grilling (nobody could roast a hog like Rob). He enjoyed a good party and putting a smile on everyone’s face. They never left his presence without a smile. He loved spending time with his best friend, his wife Denise (Kelley) Smith, friends, children, and family.
At the young age of 14 he met his best friend and childhood girlfriend, Denise Kelley who was 12 at the time. They spent many years dating. They married on January 1st, 2000 and spent 22 wonderful years together.
Those who remain to treasure his memory include his wife Denise (Kelley) Smith, his daughters: Aniesa (Keith Hartline), Angel (Brent Imhoff), Anna (Isaac Anderson), and Sarah (Ryan Isaak); son, Robbie (Kara Snow); grandchildren: Harley and Easton; mother, Patricia (Murray) Jennings; two brothers: Eric Vandeford (Catie) and Richard Vandeford (Deena), Uncle Paul Murray (Betty), father-in-law and mother-in-law, and many brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was a beloved member of Prairie Farms out of O’Fallon, IL for 22 years and will be missed by his work family.
Rob was preceded in death by his dad Melvin Brooks; grandmother, Joan (Renfro) Murray; grandfather Eugene Murray and many other loved ones. He will be dearly missed by all.
There are no services schedules at this time. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
