Obituary for Ruby J. Brown

Ruby Josephine Brown of Potosi, Missouri, was born on November 1, 1925 in Illinois, a daughter of the late Daniel Harper and the late Gennie (Bridgeman) Harper. Ruby went to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at the age of 97.

In addition to her father and mother, Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Julius S. Brown on November 15, 1996; three sons: Alvin Brown, Daniel Brown and Bobby Brown; three grandchildren: Ronnie Craig, Leslie Brown and Sherri Brown; great grandson, Justin Harrison; two sisters: Annie Ryerson and Gladine Meador; six brothers: Luther, Ralph, Leo, Harold, Earnest, and Treffee Harper.

Ruby is survived by seven children: Julius E. "Dude" Brown (wife, Diane), Kenny Brown (wife, Carla), Leroy Brown (wife, Faye), Pauline Harrison (husband, Paul), Leona Skaggs (husband, Raymond), Ruby Brown, and Ricky Brown (wife, Judy); 25 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and 30 great great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Janet Brown; brother, Bill Harper (wife, Ruth). Ruby also leaves behind many nieces, nephews extended family, and friends.

Ruby was quite the cook, especially her famous coconut cream pies. In her early years, Ruby enjoyed gardening along with her husband Julius. Ruby was a member for years at Potosi Church of God now known as Reviving Hope. She loved the Lord with all of her heart. She always looked forward to praising and worshiping her Savior any chance she got. Ruby enjoyed listening to the Jimmy Swaggart Network. Ruby Loved her family and spending time with all of them. Ruby's great great granddaughter Lilli held a special place in her heart as they grew very close over the past couple of years. Ruby was loved so much by her family and she will be greatly missed and forever treasured.

A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at DeClue Funeral Home from 11 AM until the time of her Funeral Service at 2 PM. Bro. Randy Ruble and Pastor Matt Woods will officiate her service. Interment and final prayers will follow in the Lost Creek Cemetery. DeClue Funeral Home was honored to have served and ministered to the family of Mrs. Ruby Brown.
