Scottie Laverne Schrum of Potosi, Missouri was born on November 5, 1926, a son to the late Harry Schrum and the late Grace (Sullivan) Schrum. On May 16, 1947, Scottie was united in marriage to Ina June Parks and they shared sixty-seven years together. Scottie went to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 having reached ninety-three years of age.

In addition to his parents, Scottie is preceded in death by his wife, Ina June Schrum; infant son, Hurlin Eugene Schrum; son, Victor Scottie Schrum; grandsons: John Lynn Turntine and Nathan Schrum; son-in-law, John Turntine; daughter-in-law, Brenda Yount; and siblings: Houston Schrum, Lloyd Schrum, Elmer Schrum, Harold Schrum, Ralph Schrum, Earl Schrum, Lindell Schrum, Rodney Schrum, Gladys Blount, Blanch Thompson and Maude Badgley.

Survivors include: four sons: Dennis (Pam) Schrum, Adam Schrum, Marty Schrum and Christopher (Britney) Schrum; five daughters: Linda Turntine, Donna Alvers, Lois (Lindell) Land, Kim (Tim) Walton and Cassie Schrum (Companion, Gary McKinney); one brother, Paulie Schrum; thirty-four grandchildren; fifty-three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many dear nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Scottie was held at DeClue Funeral Home on Saturday, March 7, 2020, beginning at 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held at 1:00 PM, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bill Brammer officiating.

Interment and final prayers will follow held at Schrum Family Cemetery, Potosi,. Scottie received full military honors presented by the United States Army, Patriot Guard and VFW Post 6996.
