Obituary for Sharon Ruth Stanfield (Skaggs)

Sharon Ruth Stanfield of Potosi, Missouri, was born on October 12, 1943 in Washington County, Missouri, a daughter to the late Eugene Steven Skaggs and Dorothy Louise (Isgriggs) Skaggs. Sharon went to her heavenly home on Friday, April 22, 2022, having reached the age of seventy-eight years, six months, and ten days.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her husband, Jerry Stanfield; children: Kristen Politte, Shawn Stanfield (wife, Jeannie), and Kendra Stanfield (Evan Berry); grandchildren: Jessica Holloway (husband, Daniel), Dylan Stanfield and Olivia Kwan, Blake Stanfield, and Allison Stanfield Hance; great-grandchildren: Kobe and Kason Holloway; brother, Dan Skaggs (wife, Debbie); brother-in-law, Gerald “Jiggs” Rollens; nephew, Steven Skaggs; and niece, Tracy Harris (husband, Noel).

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rudie Edmond and Ina Opal Stanfield; sister-in-law, Wilma Rollens; and many special aunts, uncles, and other family members.

Sharon was a member of Potosi Full Gospel Church and served on the church board for many years. She enjoyed singing specials, gardening with Jerry, reading, and gathering together with her family. She also loved to paint and could paint beautifully. On March 15, 1963, Sharon was united in marriage to Jerry Stanfield, at the church parsonage by Bro. Alfred Stephens, and they shared 59 years together.

A Visitation for Sharon will be Wednesday, April 27, 2022, from 11:30 am to 2 pm at DeClue Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 2 pm, officiated by Sister Virginia Nettles. Interment will follow at Redbud Memorial Gardens in Potosi, MO.
