Obituary for Shirley Mae Gray (Nipper)

Shirley Mae Gray of Potosi, Missouri, was born on April 24, 1945, in Palmer, Missouri, a daughter of the late Alonzo Nipper and Hazel (Martin) Nipper. Shirley passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, having reached the age of seventy-seven years and fifteen days.

On November 16, 1963, Shirley was united in marriage to Ardell Gray, in St. Louis, and they spent 58 years together.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her husband, Ardell Gray; children: Timmy Gray (wife, Pat), Kimberly Kley (husband, Mike), Melinda Sneed (husband, John), Kevin Griggs Gray; grandchildren: Special granddaughter, Haylee Gray; Many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings: Doris Lawson, Cathy James (husband, Ed), Larry Nipper (wife, Colleen), Bob Nipper (wife, Carlene); sister-in-law, CeAnn Nipper; brother-in-law, Harry Harter. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tammy Gray; granddaughters: Lori Brinkley, Misty Dawn Griggs; great granddaughter, Willow Kley; siblings: Alvin Nipper (wife, Ruth Ann), Bonnie Senter (husband, Bob), Bill Nipper, and Linda Harter.

A visitation for Shirley will be Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 5 to 8 pm at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Friday, May 13, 2022, from 9 to 11 am.

A Funeral Service will be Friday, May 13, 2022, at 11 am, officiated by Bro Randall Jarvis. Interment will follow at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
